This rather long-winded film shows a major public art project commissioned by Portsmouth City Council, saw two Island organisations work together for the first time in 2006 The Island 2000 Trust and Eccleston George drew up plans to collect 14 artistic designs from the Copnor Community to be transformed into low relief sculptures on a brand new bridge in Portsmouth. Together the teams programmed workshops to cater for over a thousand local residence, school children and community groups in order to collate and create designs for the new ?9.5 million Copnor Bridge Replacment Scheme. The project was a complete success and completed the ahead of schedule and on budget. If your interested in public/communtiy art its probably worth a look.
